DCS-22
APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP


Application for membership in DCS-22 is a multi-step process. The prospective new member is responsible for completing the initial steps in accordance with the following instructions. The District Communications Officer (DCO) for DCS-22 will coordinate the completion of the application process as described below.

Membership requires the following:
  • Applicant is a licensed Amateur Radio Operator
  • Applicant is at least 18 years of age
  • Applicant must have Internet capability
  • Completion and submittal of Application and other required forms
  • Providing copies of Amateur Radio License, California Drivers License, and Photograph for Identification Card
  • LiveScan Fingerprinting
  • Background Check
  • Completion of Training Classes at County EOC
  • Completion of NIMS/ICS ICS-100 & ICS-700 On-line Classes
  • Issuance of Tactical Call and ID Card
  • Purchase of Uniform Clothing
  • 48 Hours per Year of Qualified Participation

REGISTRATION PROCESS

> STEP ONE - DCO INTERVIEW
The first step in the application process is to notify the DCS-22 District Communications Officer, K-01, of your interest in membership. He will contact you to conduct an interview and verify your general eligibility. He will provide any special guidance appropriate to your application.



> STEP TWO - COMPLETE APPLICATION
Step two is to complete the Application Forms. The forms package is available as an electronic PDF file which can be downloaded using your Browser and partially completed using Acrobat software. The Membership Application forms package is available HERE.

The Membership Package includes:
  • Civilian Volunteer Application (7 pages)
  • Volunteer Programs Interest Information Sheet
  • Policy of Equality - Acknowledgement of Receipt (See below for Policy)
  • Request for Live Scan Service
  • Criminal Justice System Disclosure
  • Uniform Policy (including Smoking Policy)
  • Letter of Commitment
  • Assignment of Intellectural Property

Print all of the forms in the Membership Application package and complete the forms which were not electronically fillable.




> STEP THREE - VERIFY AND SUBMIT APPLICATION
Verify that you have completed and signed all of the forms listed above. Information that has yet to be determined such as your Tactical Call may be left blank. Sign all forms with your legal name and date them.

Collect all of the above forms along with:
  • A signed copy of your Amateur Radio License,
  • A copy of your California Drivers License, &
  • A passport sized digital photograph of yourself

and submit them to:

Completed and signed forms may also be scanned into PDF format and submitted by email to the DCS-22 DCO, K-01.



> STEP FOUR - APPLICATION PROCESSING
Your Application will be reviewed and forwarded for processing in accordance with LA County DCS procedures. The DCS-22 District Communications Officer will inform you when you are ready to complete the next steps.
